9/17/26 – Presentation & Site Visit: Proposed Dock at Goodrich Park
This information session on the Proposed Public Dock at Goodrich Park hosted by the Town of York’s River Access Ad Hoc Committee features two parts:
Presentation by Tim Greer, Chair of the River Access Ad Hoc Committee at the York Public Library Community Room, 3:30 to 4:30 pm. The presentation likely will not take the full hour and there will be time for questions and discussion. Attendees are welcome to depart for the optional site visit at Goodrich Park any time. Presentation location: York Public Library, 15 Long Sands Road, York, Maine.
Site Visit at Goodrich Park from 4 to 5 pm (drop in): Two River Access Ad Hoc Committee members will be on site at Goodrich Park next to the Grant House to show the location of the proposed dock and access. Attendees can drop in at any time during the hour. This is not a formal presentation. Site visit location: Grant House, 200 US Route 1, York, Maine
Background: York’s Comprehensive Plan called for the formation of an ad hoc committee in 2023 to study river access, including alternative access sites along the York River to improve harbor safety. With funding from the Town of York, York Harbor Board, and York River Stewardship Committee, the River Access Ad Hoc Committee hired GEI, Inc. to assist in evaluating sites and developing preliminary plans. Goodrich Park met all of the criteria for a new non-motorized (paddleboarders/kayakers) launch and dock site. The proposed dock plan will be presented at the Library, with an optional site visit at Goodrich Park. View the Preliminary Design Plans, as of 9/18/25, developed a year ago by GEI, Inc. for the Town of York.
Come learn about and see the plans for yourself! This item is proposed to be on the May 2027 ballot, if approved by the Selectboard.
