Background: York’s Comprehensive Plan called for the formation of an ad hoc committee in 2023 to study river access, including alternative access sites along the York River to improve harbor safety. With funding from the Town of York, York Harbor Board, and York River Stewardship Committee, the River Access Ad Hoc Committee hired GEI, Inc. to assist in evaluating sites and developing preliminary plans. Goodrich Park met all of the criteria for a new non-motorized (paddleboarders/kayakers) launch and dock site. View the Preliminary Design Plans, as of 9/18/25, developed at the time by GEI, Inc. for the Town of York.
