YRSC meeting: Watershed Build-out Project Presentation and Discussion

April 3, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

The York River Study Committee (YRSC) is convening a meeting on Tuesday, April 3, 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at the York Public Library, for a presentation on a build-out study conducted for the York River watershed area.  A build-out study uses existing zoning, regulations, and site restrictions to estimate the amount and general location of potential future development. Southern Maine Planning and Development Commission (SMPDC) received a Maine Coastal Program grant in late 2017 to conduct the build-out and review regulatory and non-regulatory approaches for resource protection in the four watershed towns. Subcontractor Judy Colby-George of Spatial Alternatives will present the build-out analysis and potential impacts to some key watershed resources.  SMPDC staff will present and discuss options for resource protection. Please RSVP if you plan to attend this meeting.
